Privacy Policy, Terms of Service & Partner Terms

Anist Ventures Private Limited · Effective 27 July 2026 · Version 1.0 · India (DPDP Act, 2023)

The short version

We collect only what a booking needs — your name, contact number, locality and your pet’s details. We share it with the vet, clinic, groomer or trainer fulfilling that booking, and with nobody else for advertising. We never sell your data. You can withdraw consent or ask us to delete your data at any time.

What Anist is not

Anist is a booking marketplace. We do not own or operate veterinary hospitals or clinics, and we do not practise veterinary medicine. Clinical decisions, diagnosis, treatment and their outcomes are the responsibility of the independent, licensed professional who attends your pet.

1. Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Anist Ventures Private Limited (“Anist”, “we”) collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal data when you use anist.in, the Anist web app or any Anist booking channel. It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011.

1.1 What we collect

  • You give us: name, mobile or WhatsApp number, email, city, locality or address, pet details (species, breed, age, sex, symptoms, medical history you choose to share), booking preferences, and any files or photos you upload.
  • Generated by use: booking history, service and price selected, appointment notes and prescriptions uploaded by the attending professional, ratings and feedback, support messages.
  • Collected automatically: device type, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from it, pages visited and referral source, via cookies and similar technologies.
  • Payment data: processed by our payment gateway. We store only the transaction reference, amount and status — never your full card number, CVV or UPI credentials.

1.2 Why we use it

  • To create, assign, confirm and fulfil your booking, and to pass the necessary details to the vet, clinic, groomer or trainer serving you.
  • To maintain your pet’s health record — visits, vaccinations, prescriptions, lab reports and grooming notes — and to remind you before a due date lapses.
  • To provide support, resolve disputes, process refunds, prevent fraud and misuse, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.
  • To improve the service using aggregated, de-identified analytics.
  • Marketing, only where you have consented: service updates, launch announcements, offers, health tips and reminders by SMS, WhatsApp, email, in-app notification or phone call. Marketing consent is separate from booking consent, and refusing it never blocks a booking.

1.3 Consent and withdrawal

We process your data on the consent you give at the point of booking or enquiry, shown as two separate tick boxes — one for this policy and the terms, one for communications. You may withdraw marketing consent any time by replying STOP to an SMS or WhatsApp message, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or writing to privacy@anist.in. Withdrawal applies going forward and does not affect messages we must send about an active booking (confirmation, vet ETA, invoice, cancellation). Withdrawing consent for booking-essential processing means we can no longer provide the service and any open booking may be cancelled.

1.4 Who we share it with

  • Service partners: the specific vet, clinic, hospital, groomer or trainer fulfilling your booking receives your name, contact number, address and the pet and clinical details needed to attend safely.
  • Processors under contract: hosting, communication (SMS/WhatsApp/email), analytics, payment and CRM providers, bound to use the data only for us and to protect it.
  • Legal: where required by law, court order or a lawful government request, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
  • Corporate: in a merger, acquisition or restructuring, with the same protections carried over and notice to you.

We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with third-party advertisers for their own marketing.

1.5 Your rights

Access a summary of the data we hold and how it is processed; correct or complete inaccurate data; erase data we no longer need for a lawful purpose; withdraw consent; nominate someone to exercise these rights for you; and raise a grievance with us before approaching the Data Protection Board of India. Write to privacy@anist.in from your registered contact — we respond within 30 days. Some records (invoices, tax records, prescriptions and treatment notes) may be retained where law requires it.

1.6 Security, retention, children, cookies

  • Security: encryption in transit, need-to-know access control, logging and vendor due diligence. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we notify you and the Board as required.
  • Retention: account and pet health records while your account is active and up to 3 years after your last booking; invoices and tax records for 8 years; consent records for as long as consent stands plus 3 years.
  • Children: the service is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly process a child’s data without verifiable parental consent and do not direct advertising at children.
  • Cookies: essential cookies keep the site working; analytics and marketing cookies run only with your consent, and declining them does not block bookings.

2. Terms of Service

2.1 What Anist does

Anist is a technology platform connecting pet parents with independent, licensed veterinary and pet care providers, and facilitating appointments and payments. We verify registration and licence documents before listing a partner, but we do not employ them, supervise clinical judgement, or guarantee any diagnosis, treatment, outcome or service quality. The professional relationship for care is between you and the provider.

2.2 Bookings, timing and pricing

Arrival windows, slot times and “same-day” or “within about three hours” indications are estimates based on partner availability, not guarantees. Traffic, emergencies and partner cancellations can change them; we will inform you and offer the next available slot or a full refund of anything paid. Pre-launch prices are indicative; the final itemised price is confirmed before you accept a booking. Medicines, diagnostics and procedures advised by the vet are billed as used and you will be told before they are administered except in a life-threatening emergency. Cancellation is free until a provider is assigned and en route; after that a visit or travel fee may apply, as stated at booking.

2.3 Your responsibilities

Give accurate information, including bite history, aggression, contagious illness and existing medication — the attending professional’s safety depends on it. Provide a safe, lit, accessible space, restrain your pet as instructed, and ensure an adult is present throughout a home visit. Nothing on Anist is emergency care: in a life-threatening situation, take your pet to the nearest 24x7 veterinary hospital immediately.

2.4 Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Anist’s total liability for any claim arising from a booking is limited to the platform fee or the amount you paid for that booking, whichever is lower. Anist is not liable for clinical outcomes, indirect or consequential loss, or a partner’s acts or omissions. Health guides and reminders on Anist are general information, not veterinary advice for your specific pet. These terms are governed by Indian law with jurisdiction in the courts at Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh; disputes will first be attempted in good faith with our grievance officer.

3. Partner Terms

3.1 Verification and listing

By applying you consent to Anist verifying your veterinary council registration, trade licence, qualifications, GST details and references, and to your verified practice name, services, pricing and area being displayed on Anist. You confirm all information given is true and will inform us within 7 days if any licence lapses, is suspended or is under enquiry. Listing is at Anist’s discretion and may be paused or removed for licence issues, repeated cancellations, safety complaints or conduct that endangers pets or pet parents. No listing fee is charged during onboarding; commission and settlement cycle are agreed in a separate written schedule before your first booking.

3.2 Independence and data use

You act as an independent professional or establishment, not an employee or agent of Anist, and remain solely responsible for clinical decisions, prescriptions, drug handling, waste disposal, staff, insurance and statutory compliance. Pet parent data shared with you may be used only to deliver that booking and maintain the resulting clinical record. You may not use it for your own marketing, resell it, or contact the pet parent off-platform for services booked through Anist. Report any data incident to privacy@anist.in within 24 hours.
