Before choosing a place
Ask which animals are accepted, how sleeping and rest are arranged, how animals are separated, who supervises them and how often owners receive updates. Tell the provider about your pet’s previous boarding experience and handling concerns.
Before agreeing the quote
Confirm arrival and departure times, meals, cleaning, exercise, updates, transport, additional care and late pickup. Ask how cancellations or changes to your travel affect the total. Compare the complete arrangement rather than the headline daily rate.
At handover
Provide clearly labelled food where agreed, routine instructions, emergency contacts and the attending vet’s details. Discuss any prescribed care with the provider in advance and confirm whether they can accept those responsibilities.
If plans change
Agree a contact method and instructions for delayed collection or an unexpected care concern. Keep the confirmed proposal and provider contact details accessible while you are away.
